¿Qué es un AAA?

¿Es un AAA serio?
Las AAA grandes son raras, pero pueden ser muy serias. A medida que la aorta se expande, puede explotar, y la persona generalmente muere. Las AAA de tamaño pequeño / mediano no son tan peligrosas, y un cirujano vascular consultor las controlará.
¿Es importante el examen de AAA?
La mayoría de las personas con AAA no tienen síntomas. Una simple ecografía indolora de su abdomen le dirá si tiene un AAA. Solo estamos evaluando a los hombres, ya que las AAA son seis veces más comunes en los hombres que en las mujeres. La ruptura de AAA le ocurre mayormente a los hombres. También es más probable que tenga un AAA si fuma, tiene presión arterial alta o si su padre, hermano o hermana tenía un AAA.
